Carla didn't have a chance to create art on this trip, because she was very busy teaching, cooking wonderful meals, and trying to keep up with 11 very energetic artists who wanted to scatter to all corners of the island. Well, maybe not to the corners with alligators.

With any luck, she will soon pass along the recipes for:

• Vegetarian chili
• Pumpkin soup
• Quick lasagna

If you haven't taken one of Carla's classes, you really owe it to yourself to do so. She teaches regularly at:

• Atlanta College of Art
• Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

And besides all that, she is a darn nice person.
